The below customizations and extensions of the standard Yellowdig platform are available to enact for partner institutions depending on organizational needs and the number of instructors and learners.
LTI Launch Customizations
This feature has been developed mostly for higher volume organizations or those with an interest in rapid expansion. Our LTI Launch Customizations remove the need for instructors, instructional designers, or administrators to create new boards individually. Rather, boards are predefined at the organization level and are automatically launched the very moment a user - even a student - attempts to utilize Yellowdig from within a course. This customization ensures there are no more missed opportunities for Yellowdig activity within a class.
Our LTI launch Customizations retain privacy and FERPA compliance.
It’s possible to specify a wide variety of LTI launch parameters for this automatic board creation. These configurations allow customization of parameters like User IDs, Board/Course Titles, institutional settings for where things appear in your LMS, etc.
Changing Your Organization's Logo
Its possible with Yellowdig to customize the "Yellowdig" logo to one that matches your org. For example: University named Columbia, you’d be able to configure Yellowdig to display the logo as COLUMBIAdig, Columbia.dig, etc.
Data Export and Reports
We offer a variety of data exports on request which you may use to track student engagement, faculty performance, student generated content for research driven purposes. Our team can export this data in .csv, JSON, .txt, Powerpoint, etc.
Organizations have some options to request automated reports and we invite you to discuss your data wants and needs with us. If helpful, Yellowdig is happy to assist in determining which data would likely prove most valuable for your organization’s use-case as well as working with you to discuss effective ways for such metrics to be presented.
LMS Display Options
Upon installing Yellowdig, it’s possible to customize some aspects of how it is that Yellowdig is seen and accessed within your organization’s LMS. These typically include the location of the Yellowdig link as well as establishing the visibility of these links dependent on a user's role in the LMS.
Allowing Multiple Boards Per LMS Course
Strictly an organization-wide setting, our multiple-boards-per-course extension provides institutions with the ability to further divide their courses into multiple boards. This extension has been useful for clients interested in a higher degree of structure and rigidity within their curricula and course environments. The use of this extension usually significantly changes the nature of how boards are used and should be carefully considered, but it does retain a framework that is still easy to navigate for instructors and learners.
Typically course title is assigned as the board’s default unique identifier. This feature requires assigning a second unique identifier. It does require some additional setup within LMS courses but training on how to do this is provided by our tech team.
Student Created Boards with Automated Owner Transfer
Yellowdig may be configured to allow for students to create and launch Yellowdig boards from the LMS. When enabled, this feature allows students to initialize discussions without needing to wait for instructor involvement.
Instructors may claim ownership of such boards after the discussion has started.
Customizing the Color-Scheme
Yellowdig may be configured to display custom colors from your organization. This includes a high-contrast option for accessibility requirements.
Template Boards / Starter Content
You may supply Yellowdig with customized initial content which can be copied into subsequent boards as conversation starters or orientation materials.

Some of our customers use the Yellowdig Public API to track student attendance. Additionally, our team can configure attendance scripting to send automated attendance reports to your organization on a regular basis.

- One-click board creation — Boards are created on clicking LMS launch without need for specified user configurations. Recommended for organizations anticipating or interested in expansion.
