Seamless integration with your LMS

A key feature of Yellowdig is its seamless integration with most learning management systems including Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, Sakai, etc.

  • This makes the platform easy to adopt university-wide
  • We have a simple LTI integration set up with the LMS
  • We have One-Click access from LMS
  • There is no need to make a separate account. We make the account for you when you come for the first time through the LMS.

To come from your LMS, first go to your course page. (We show Canvas below but it's the same process for all LMS') Then, navigate to settings.

Within your settings, you'll want to head to your LMS app configurations.

The next step is then to navigate to Yellowdig's settings, seen highlighted below.

The following screenshot is of Canvas's configuration window. ( The necessary information needed for Canvas custom integration is the following -- )

   sub_canvas_account_id=$Canvas.account.id
   sub_canvas_api_domain=$Canvas.api.domain
   sub_canvas_course_id=$Canvas.course.id
   sub_canvas_enrollment_enrollment_state=$Canvas.enrollment.enrollmentState
   sub_canvas_membership_concluded_roles=$Canvas.membership.concludedRoles
   sub_canvas_user_id=$Canvas.user.id
   sub_canvas_user_login_id=$Canvas.user.loginId
   sub_person_address_timezone=$Person.address.timezone
   sub_person_name_family=$Person.name.family
   sub_person_name_full=$Person.name.full
   sub_person_name_given=$Person.name.given

Once installed, Yellowdig appears as a tab in the course. The final step is to create an assignment. Clicking on the assignment will automatically configure users' grade passback.

Assignment configuration options will be similar to those seen below.

Take note of the "Submission Type". You should select "External Tool" and enter this URL where prompted: http://www.yellowdig.com/lti/launch (seen below) This is also the window in which you'll decide on wether or not Yellowdig opens in a new tab or within the LMS shell.

Finished! Feel free to starting Pinning!
