To influence what learners are discussing each week, we recommend switching required Topics rather than adding and deleting Topics throughout the course. Changing which Topics are required for earning points still allows learners to discuss and label content for the Topics they are interested in, but without a points benefit.
Adding new Topics during a course is okay if you realize you have missed one that would be helpful, but we highly discourage deleting Topics. This is an especially strong recommendation if the Topic was already used (e.g., don’t delete a week 1 Topic in week 3).
Why? Deleting Topics prevents learners from using those Topic tags as filters for studying and will remove their Topic data from the Community Health page.
