The Community Health tool allows Community Owners and Facilitators to view and visualize Community Members' usage statistics, including the number and frequency of:
- Reactions Given
- Reactions Received
Instructors can use these statistics to track relationships between point distributions and usage behaviors, discover correlations between specific usage patterns and learning outcomes, determine when and how often Members engage with their Community, and so on. Having this information allows instructors to better incentivize target behaviors, develop evidence-based online pedagogies, and improve learning outcomes.
Accessing and using the Community Health portal:
- Click on Community Health on the left-hand menu. This will take you to a table of users along with their usage statistics.
- Click on a row to graph an individual user's activity. You can expand or limit the sorts of activities represented in the graph by clicking on the buttons just above the graph (e.g., Posts, Comments, Reactions Given).
- You can also limit or expand the date range of the graph (the x-axis) by adjusting the date range just above the activity buttons. This feature is particularly handy at the end of a long semester—when, for example, you are interested only in a student's most recent activity.
