The Post Toolbox, which appears at the bottom of the Post editor and the Comment editor*, allows users to produce and share different forms of content. You can use any number of Toolbox functions for the same Post. Depending on your organization's settings, you might not have access to every function described in this article. Below, we briefly describe each function:
Poll
Create a Poll that is open to all Members of your Community. State the question for your Poll in the body of the Post, and add answer choices under "Options". Determine when answer choices are displayed under "Show Results", and set the amount of time Community Members have to respond under "Poll Length".
File
Attach any file from your computer. Files are automatically added to the Files page, where they can be downloaded by Community Members.
Video
Attach a video file from your computer. Only valid video formats (e.g., MP4) will appear as options. Videos are automatically added to the Files page, where they can be downloaded by Community Members.
Image
Attach an image file from your computer. Only valid image formats (e.g., JPEG, JPG, and PNG) will appear as options.
Pin to Top
Only Community Owners and Facilitators have this option. See our user guide and best practices.
Add Topics
Assign any number of Topics to your Post (if Topics are available). See our user guide and best practices.
Emoji
Add emojis to your Post. Only emojis that are enabled in your Community and/or Network will appear as options.
Draw
Use a stylus (recommended) or a mouse (not recommended) to create a drawing, which will appear as an image below your Post. You can also upload a photo and annotate it using the draw tool.
Record Video
Record a video from within the Yellowdig platform. Depending on your browser's settings, you may need to permit Yellowdig to access your camera and microphone. Yellowdig uses your camera and microphone only while you are recording video. Recorded videos are automatically added to the Files page. Currently, videos recorded within Yellowdig cannot be downloaded.
Click the Start Recording button to begin recording. You can pause or resume the recording at any time by toggling the Pause/Resume button. To discard your recording, click "Remove Recording" in the upper-right hand corner of the record screen.
* The Post Toolbox in the Comment editor does not include the Poll or Pin to Top functions.
